Dawn Ansbro is the Executive Director of the SUNY Orange Foundation and drives the organization’s mission to generate funds and build resources to enhance learning opportunities for SUNY Orange students and the community. In this capacity, she is responsible for $20M in assets and oversees Alumni Relations, Scholarship Development and Fundraising for SUNY Orange. Prior to her work with the SUNY Orange Foundation, Dawn was the Executive Director of the Orange County Arts Council for seven years and helped found that organization as its first Board President in 2007. The Arts Council continues to support, promote and unite the arts – in all its various forms – in Orange County. Dawn was also the Director of Organizational Development for the Lycian Centre in Sugar Loaf (now the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center) where she handled marketing, rentals, and public relations for the theatre, as well as business management, board development and fund-raising for the resident non-profit organization, Kings Theatre Company. Before her non-profit work, Dawn grew up in the corporate world where she held positions as Recruiter, Quality Assurance Manager, Director of Training, Director of Client Relations and Director of New Account Implementation in the third-party call center industry. She started her career in retail as part of Lord and Taylor’s Management Training Program and spent six years in various retail management positions. In 2013, Dawn was honored as a Woman of Achievement by the Girl Scouts and the YWCA. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design from Marist College and her Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and is a proud 2006 graduate of the Leadership Orange program.
