Susan Dean is the Director of Operations for McKesson’s pharmaceutical distribution center in Montgomery, NY. Susan is responsible for all operational activities and P&L accountability across the facility, as well as inventory accountability and exposure to risk and loss for a highly automated distribution center. Her responsibility includes providing the highest possible service to the market customer base, and providing a work environment conducive to superior productivity, safety, quality and morale. Susan is actively engaged in long-term strategic planning for the distribution center where McKesson is the leading pharmaceutical wholesaler with more than $100 billion in annual revenue.
Susan began her career at McKesson in 2014 as a Planning Manager at the Robbinsville, NJ distribution center when it opened, and within a year rose to Assistant Distribution Center Manager for the highly automated distribution center.
Susan was raised in a military family resulting in her residence across the United States and overseas. Susan earned a Doctorate of Business Administration degree from Walden University, an MBA in Management from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from John Carroll University. Susan’s co-authored article, “Soft Skills Needed for the 21st-Century Workforce” is published in the International Journal of Applied Management and Technology (DOI:10.5590/IJAMT.2019.18.1.02).
Susan is a member of the board of directors of the McKesson OWNIT employee resource group, the Orange County Workforce Development Board, the Council of Industry, the Orange County Citizens Foundation and the Orange County Partnership. She is a member of the Orange County Business Partnership Workforce Development Committee and the Mount Saint Mary Business Advisory Council.
