Elena grew up in Pearl River, NY, a small family town and home of the second largest Saint Patrick’s Day parade in the country. Prior to making Orange County her home, she attended SUNY Purchase earning her BA, and began her career as a Specialist in the South Bronx working for the Office Of the Bronx District Attorney. As an advocate for crime victims and parallel justice she developed the confidence to pursue her passions by reaping the rewards of serving the community. Elena continued her education at Marist College and received her Masters in Public Administration, completing her cohort capstone on an alternative program to a court appointed PINS (Person In Need of Supervision) for youth in New York City. This led her to pioneer a quality assurance program for foster/therapeutic foster boarding homes for Saint Dominic’s Home, a provider agency located throughout the Bronx, Rockland, and Orange County. She has worked for several non profit organizations in the Hudson Valley dedicated to providing lifespan and healthcare services to vulnerable children and adults. Elena gained responsibilities within compliance and quality roles over the last eight years; starting as a specialist conducting analyses and investigations to prevent fraud and abuse, working her way to a senior management leader and Director of Quality Improvement. Today, Elena works freelance providing consultation on compliance program development and risk management deliverables, specializing in healthcare services. In addition to navigating proprietorship, Elena is a board member for Blooming Grove Day Care, a non-profit established in 1972 by members of the Blooming Grove community to provide affordable day care and developmental support.
She is a dedicated vegetarian and animal lover who enjoys spending time with family and learning more about backyard farming. Elena lives with her supportive husband, their son and two cats in Washingtonville, NY.
