Stephanie Tunic is an associate attorney at Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone, LLP in Goshen, NY. Her practice primarily focuses in land use, environmental law, municipal law, civil litigation, and real estate, but she is also involved with some of the firm’s banking and commercial transactions. She joined the firm in October 2017 after graduating with her Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in Environmental Law from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains, New York. She is admitted to the New York State Bar.
Ms. Tunic has a background in civil litigation, government and municipal law. During law school, Ms.Tunic worked as a law clerk at the insurance defense firm, Varvaro, Cotter & Bender in White Plains, New York. She was also a judicial intern for the Hon. Joan B. Lefkowitz of Westchester County Supreme Court, Ninth Judicial District.
Ms. Tunic has worked at all three levels of government: interning at the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation in the Governmental Relations Division, completing a legal externship with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in the Office of General Counsel, and interning with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Division of Enforcement and Compliance Assistance.
An Orange County resident, Ms. Tunic graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a double major in Legal Studies. Currently, she belongs to the Women’s Bar Association of Orange & Sullivan Counties. Every Saturday you can find her volunteering at Catskill Animal Sanctuary as an Animal Caregiver in Saugerties, New York.
