Youth participants will get an inside look at the law enforcement, judicial, and correctional system in Orange County. Included are presentations and question and answer periods with law enforcement officials, judges, public defenders and prosecutors.
Class members learn first-hand from local economic development professionals what it takes to attract or retain a company and the larger implications of this growth. The county’s overall economic development strengths and challenges are introduced. Participants meet with leaders in the local business community – entrepreneurs, small business owners, corporate leaders and members of the arts and agricultural community – to learn more about the challenges and benefits of doing business in Orange County. The impact and implications of buying local is discussed and participants will be challenged to make an impact in Orange County’s economic development arena.

April will focus on the Quality of Life and what makes Orange County a great place to work, live, play and stay. During this final session, students will have an opportunity to speak about the program and how it has positively influenced their future. The program will conclude with a memorable graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the students.
JUNIOR LEADERSHIP ORANGE CLASS OF 2019 GRADUATION
Please join us in celebrating the wonderful achievements of the Junior Leadership Orange Class of 2019. We will hear from our youth – the business leaders of tomorrow on how the program positively impacted them. Casey Hill, a Junior Leadership OrangeClass of 2015 and Senior at Middletown City School District is our keynote speaker.

Leadership Orange will host its first annual 5K Race (Run/Walk). The race will benefit our program initiatives such as Signature Program and Junior Leadership Orange.
The event will kick-off on the grounds of Angry Orchard with registration at 9 am. The official start of the race will begin at 10 am and participants will run/walk along Albany Post and Bernhardt Road and back to Angry Orchard. At the end of the race, participants are welcome to join in an after race gathering at the Angry Orchard Cider Garden. Race participants will receive a T-shirt and samplings of Angry Orchard Cider (must be 21 to receive sampling). The cost to participate is $25 per person.

Roundtable discussions and presentations by Orange County’s top health and human services professionals highlight this powerful day of learning. Participants are exposed to a number of issues facing Orange County residents and healthcare professions, including funding constraints, Medicare issues and mental health concerns. Class members will participate in a poverty simulation.
